On Wednesday, 11 March 2026, the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command (FOC NAVTRAC), Rear Admiral Ebiobowei Abraham Zipele, paid a familiarisation visit to the Nigerian Navy School of Armament Technology (NNSAT), Kachia. The visit formed part of his ongoing tour of training establishments, schools and units under the Naval Training Command. On arrival, the FOC was warmly received by the Commandant of NNSAT, Commodore Chikaji Isah, alongside the principal staff officers of the School.
During the visit, Rear Admiral Zipele toured several key facilities within the School, including the Drill Shed, Training Block, classrooms, the Information and Communication Technology Centre, accommodation areas and the Sickbay. He also inspected ongoing infrastructure projects such as the officers’ and ratings’ accommodation as well as the Nigerian Navy Marine Training Centre (NNMTC) arrival hall. The tour provided him with the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the School’s training environment, infrastructure development and some of the operational challenges faced by the Institution.
While addressing officers and ratings, Rear Admiral Zipele expressed satisfaction with the level of maintenance and improvements observed across the School. He commended the Commandant and personnel for their dedication and commitment to maintaining a conducive environment for learning and professional development. The FOC also encouraged personnel to continue upholding discipline, professionalism and the high standards expected of naval training institutions. In addition, he cautioned against drug abuse and examination malpractice, stressing that such actions undermine integrity, discipline and the core values of the Service. He assured the School of the Command’s continued support to enable it effectively carry out its training mandate.
Other highlights of the visit included the planting of a commemorative tree by the FOC, a briefing on the activities of NNSAT, the signing of the visitors’ book and the presentation of souvenirs.
