The Nigerian Navy School of Armament Technology (NNSAT) Kachia, on Friday 26 June 2026, graduated 323 Student Ratings during the Second Edition Gunnery Regimental Graduation. The Graduands comprised Student Ratings of the Instructors’ Refresher Course, Fire Control and Quarter Armourer I – III Courses, Batches 15, 25, 29 and 30 respectively.
Having completed a six-month specialist training in various Above Water Warfare disciplines, the newly qualified ratings are now equipped with the technical knowledge and professional competence required to support the Nigerian Navy’s operational commitments across the fleets. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the professional development of the Graduands and reaffirmed the Service’s resolve to develop a highly-skilled and mission ready workforce.
The Special Guest of Honour (SGOH), Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command, Rear Admiral Ebiobowei Abraham Zipele was received at the School’s Main Gate by the Commandant NNSAT, Commodore Chikaji Aminu Isah. Following the inspection of the Quarter Guard, the SGOH proceeded to the parade ground where the Graduands were formed up to receive him. The ceremony commenced with a General Salute and March Past, after which guests were treated to an impressive silent drill display. Other highlights included the conferment of graduation on the student ratings, presentation of certificates, presentation of awards to outstanding graduands and other ceremonial activities.
In his address, the SGOH congratulated the Graduands on the successful completion of their training and commended the instructional staff for their dedication and professionalism. He also acknowledged the visionary leadership and unwavering support of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, Admiralty Medal, whose deliberate investment in training, capacity development and professional military education continues to enhance the operational effectiveness of the Nigerian Navy. He urged the Graduands to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and integrity while applying the knowledge and skills acquired in service to the nation.
Dignitaries in attendance included the representative of the Executive Governor of Kaduna State; the representative of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Zazzau and Chairman of the Kaduna State Council of Chiefs; Their Royal Highnesses, the Agom of Kachia and the Agom of Kufana; the representative of the General Officer Commanding, 1 Division Nigerian Army; the representative of the Air Officer Commanding, Air Training Command, Nigerian Air Force; as well as other senior military and paramilitary officers, traditional rulers and distinguished guests.
