In a bid to enhance their professional development, student officers and ratings from the Nigerian Navy School of Armament Technology (NNSAT), Kachia, on Monday, 2 March 2026, visited the Nigerian Army School of Artillery (NASA), Kachia, on a training tour. The students, led by the Chief Instructor Gunnery NNSAT, Commander Emmanuel Izekor comprised 12 student officers of Officers Long Course – Above Water Warfare, 9 student ratings of Instructors Refresher Course, students of First-Rate Fire Control/Quarter Armourer Courses, 91 students of Second-Rate Fire Control/Quarter Armourer Courses and 223 students of Third-Rate Fire Control/Quarter Armourer Courses (batches 25, 29 and 30 respectively) eagerly participated in the tour.
The tour aimed at familiarizing the students with practical insight into the handling and maintenance of Nigerian Army Artillery Platforms, especially those similar to the higher calibre guns used onboard Nigerian Navy Ships. The NASA, Kachia; a Nigerian Army Institution, is focused on training soldiers in the skills and knowledge required to operate, maintain, and deploy artillery platforms effectively.
Significant aspects of the tour included a presentation on the roles of the Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery, a static display of artillery platforms and gun drills, and an exchange of souvenirs as well as group photographs.
